Speaker
Pamela L. Popp, JD, DSA, DFASHRM, CPHRM, AIM - Chief Risk Officer, GB Healthcare, Cambridge, Vermont
Description
Most risk managers will have some aspect of claims management in their job responsibilities. It can be easy to think that the claims function is only reactive, dealing with angry patients and families. However, the claims management functions provide risk managers with the opportunity to not only respond to asserted matters but to also engage in proactive activities that greatly impact the enterprise. This recording reviews these opportunities, including how to be effective in preparing employees for their role as witnesses, as well as how to manage outside counsel once claims are litigated. This webinar has been approved for 1 contact hour of Continuing Education Credit toward fulfillment of the requirements of ASHRM designations of FASHRM (Fellow) and DFASHRM (Distinguished Fellow) and towards CPHRM renewal.
