Following up on Dr. McDonald's TEDx Talk - Healing after Harm in Healthcare, he describes the recent focus on communication and resolution programs within the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology Patient Safety Report and the newly released CMS Proposed Patient Safety Structure Measures. This includes "The Why" from the patient, family, clinician, and institutional perspective. His talk includes case examples for discussion along with "best practices" for hardwiring this empathic approach in healthcare. This meeting has been approved for 1 contact hour of Continuing Education Credit toward fulfillment of the requirements of ASHRM designations of FASHRM (Fellow) and DFASHRM (Distinguished Fellow) and towards CPHRM renewal.
